Grand River Arts Council Exists—

To promote arts and culture in the communities surrounding the Grand River in Northwest South Dakota and Southwest North Dakota.

MEET THE TEAM

Grand River Arts Council (GRAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by an active team of board members and volunteers. GRAC Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month — GRAC Green Room @ 6:15 pm.

    Raven Christman

    PRESIDENT

    Raven Christman, the literary luminary, and mentor to young people! As the reigning Head Librarian at Lemmon Public Library, she also inspires up-and-coming bookworms at Calvary Christian Preschool. A true Lemmonite, Raven not only fosters young minds but also indulges her adventurous spirit, camping at Shadehill Lake during downtime. With a cup of hot artisanal coffee in hand, she dives into the pages of captivating tales. Beyond the realm of books, Raven doubles as the neighborhood squirrel guardian. From bibliophilic escapades to lakeside retreats, Raven weaves a tale of community, curiosity, and the joy of embracing simple pleasures.

    Kallie Kronberg

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Kallie Kronberg hails from Bison, South Dakota, and embodies a unique blend of roles as a public library director and dedicated rancher. With a passion for music, literature, and cinema, she seamlessly navigates between her two worlds, fostering a deep appreciation for culture and community. Balancing her love for storytelling through books and her connection to the land, Kallie embodies the spirit of the American Midwest, where the harmony of rural life and intellectual pursuits converge.

    Jenny Dirk

    MEMBER AT LARGE

    Jenny Dirk is an enthusiast of the visual, literary, and performing arts. With a teaching career spanning 17 years at the Lemmon School District, she sought to inspire students in the fields of English, art, and journalism. During this time Jenny also directed several One Act Plays with two of her favorites being "The Desperate Housewives of Shakespeare" and "Lafayette No. 1. With her help, Missoula Children’s Theatre made its return to the Lemmon Community and is now facilitated annually by the Grand River Arts Council. She currently serves as the Secretary and Bookkeeper at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In her downtime, you’ll find Jenny enjoying family time at Shadehill Lake, watching live theatre and music, and cheering on her high schooler. Go Cowboys!

    Julie Goeres

    TREASURER

    Julie Goeres is the powerhouse behind Pretty Rock Farms in southwestern North Dakota. After 21 years and countless moves as part of an active-duty military family, Julie now crafts an exquisite narrative with delicious raw milk and cheese for Dakota herd share owners. A trained accountant, she not only curates the farm's culinary delights but also ensures GRAC's financial harmony. Beyond the spreadsheets, Julie reveals her artistic flair as a seasoned fiber magician—carding, spinning, knitting, and felting her way into a world of creative wonders during her well-earned spare moments. Julie: where farm, finance, and fiber converge in a symphony of excellence!

    Julie Lindquist

    MEMBER AT LARGE

    Meet Julie Lindquist, the maestro of beauty wielding both brush and scissors, also known as Lemmon's lock magician. At Julie J's Salon, her personal haven of hair artistry, she crafts styles with the finesse of a seasoned painter. Beyond the salon chair, she's not only a great listener but a style icon, infusing creativity into GRAC events and programs. Julie also dabbles in painting, quilting, and cross stitch!

    Nora Larson

    2024 AMERICORPS MEMBER

    Nora Larson currently serves as a North Dakota AmeriCorps member with the Grand River Arts Council. Her focus is capacity building in the role of Media and Event Coordinator. A local-born and rooted Dakotan with the travel bug, she is excited to be enabling the growth of arts and culture in the Dakotas! In her alt life, Nora is a podcast connoisseur, stagehand, baker, road runner, gravel cyclist, and is moderately good at being dairy-free.
